Called “one of the great sculptures of its time” by Dominique de Menil, Mark di Suvero’s Bygones has been on view since the museum opened in 1987. From April to October 2015, the monumental steel sculpture, created in 1976, underwent its first major conservation treatment. With archival images, video of the artist, and interviews with the Menil conservation team, this video shares the history and the multi-faceted treatment of this iconic landmark in the Menil Park.
